These beautiful tatted earrings would make a wonderful gift for a special friend, or perhaps even an addition to your own jewelry collection as a “just because” gift to yourself! For this pattern, there are both written instructions and a video. I have included the video here, and a link to the written instructions is below.
Handmade jewelry holds a special significance as a gift because it reflects the time, effort, and personal touch that goes into creating each piece. It adds a unique and sentimental value that mass-produced jewelry often lacks, making it a meaningful and cherished gift for any occasion.
For this project, the designer, Elena Kozinenko, recommends that you use polyester thread Size 50. Polyester thread Size 50 is a great choice for these tatted earrings because it offers several benefits. Firstly, polyester thread is known for its durability, ensuring that the earrings will withstand regular wear and tear.
Additionally, polyester thread is resistant to shrinking, fading, and fraying, making it ideal for creating long-lasting and vibrant jewelry pieces. Finally, polyester thread is available in a wide range of colors, allowing you to choose the perfect shade to complement the design of the earrings.
Using a thread larger than Size 50 will result in earrings that are somewhat larger, so if you (or the friend you make them for) prefers larger “statement” jewelry, a Size 20 thread might be a good choice. I wouldn’t recommend going larger than a Size 20 thread, however.
