Fancy (but Simple) Tatted Filigree Heart!

Here is a free tatting pattern for this beautiful (although very simple to tat) filligree heart!

First off, a very important note!

To tat this pattern without it ending up wonky, you will need a specific type of center filigree bead that is 11 mm in width and has open daisy petals like the one in the featured image. Here is a link to where you can find the needed filigree bead/charm. This is not an affiliate link. There is also the same link in the pattern link below.

If you are unable to find this particular filigree charm, you will need to make adjustments to the number of double stitches or other components included as part of this pattern.

This filigree heart tatting pattern requires just a few basic tatting stitches and is perfect for any level of tatter. With just a few basic supplies, you can easily create this beautiful and timeless accessory.

This is a 1-shuttle, 1-ball tatting pattern.

This is a great beginner tatting pattern, as it only requires a few simple steps, and the end result is a beautiful piece of lace that you can wear or give as a gift.

Although beads and a filigree center charm are incorporated and make it appear as though it would be a very difficult tatting pattern, don’t let this prevent you from giving it a try!

If you can create a picot, you definitely can create picots with beads on them. The beads are strung onto your thread before winding your shuttle, and then 3 beads are drawn up to the place where you need to create one of the beaded picots.

The middle filigree charm also appears to be a very complicated part of this pattern, although you can look at this filigree charm as instead being just a tatted center, and this tatted center filigree is simply affixed to the outside heart shape with joins, so it truly is not complicated. In fact, it is one less component that you will need to tat!
