Superb “Snowflake 2004”!

Here is a free tatting pattern for this “Snowflake 2004” tatted snowflake!

The finished snowflake looks great in any color thread. This pattern is a great way to show off your tatting skills and add a little sparkle to your holiday decorations.

This is a somewhat more intermediate-advanced tatting pattern, because you will need to know (or learn) how to do self-closing mock rings and split rings, as well as use beads in your tatting.

This pattern is relatively easy to follow, but it does require a certain level of tatting experience. Beginners may need to take a little extra time and practice before they are able to complete it.

Self-closing mock rings and split rings are used for the outer points of the snowflake, and beads are used for embellishment both in between rings and around the outside of the points. In addition, this pattern requires precise tension and tension control, which can be difficult for beginners to master.

If you aren’t yet at the point of being able to tat with beads, you could elect to just replace the beads with picots and leave the beads out.
