Here is a FREE tatting pattern for this festive Christmas tree, complete with little picot bead “lights!” These tatted trees are the perfect size to use as Christmas ornaments!
There are a total of two different tree patterns you can choose from when you go to the pattern link below.
One of the trees has no bead “lights,” while the other does have beads incorporated into it. My favorite is the version that includes the beads. You will need thirteen Size 8/0 or Size 11/0 seed beads in your choice of color for each loop of “lights” that you do.
The pattern without the “lights” is considered to be an intermediate-beginner level, and the pattern that adds the beads to it is considered more of a intermediate pattern because of the addition of the beads.
Techniques that you will need to know for this project include the following:
- LR = Large Ring
- ( + ) = join
- SR = Small Ring
- RW = reverse work
- BR = Bottom Ring
- Cl = Close
- DNR = Do Not Reverse
- ( – or p ) = picot
