This free Halloween tatting pattern for this Halloween Pumpkin Necklace, when done, would perfectly accompany the pumpkin tatted earrings I posted here yesterday!
This necklace, along with the pumpkin earrings, would make a wonderful set to wear to the office on the Big Day, or if you want to show your spirit but don’t want to go all-out with full-blown makeup and/or a costume, this would fit the bill just wonderfully.
For this project, you will just need the usual things needed for a tatting project, including the following:
- Crochet Thread Size 10 in Orange, Green, Yellow, and White.
- Tatting Needle Size 5
- Cross Stitch Needle (for hiding the thread if you like to go that route, I do)
- Scissors
- Clasp
- Jump Rings
- Iron and Spray Starch
You could very easily tat this project up with a shuttle rather than the tatting needle mentioned above, so don’t let that stop you!
To make a more “lacy appearing” set of pumpkins, you could choose to add some picots to the very outside chain of each side of each pumpkin. If I were going to do that, I would simply do the same number of stitches in the chain, counting each picot you do as a double stitch.
